Study on Tapestry was planned and created for the collective exhibition ArteLab21 at the Museu da Tapeçaria de Portalegre - Guy Fino, in Portalegre, Portugal. This piece seeks to be a tribute to the Jacquard loom, invented by Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1804. Considered a masterpiece, for being the first programmable system machine of humanity, the Jacquard loom would came to revolutionize the textile industry, and would later have a decisive influence to computing. Its punched cards system is revisited and extolled here, remembering the influence and importance that tapestry and its devices had for the technological development of contemporary societies.
